Empowering Tools

TipText
These tools were created to help people discover what is stopping them from succeeding. For some people, having their eyes opened will be sufficient to start positive change in their lives, however, for others they will need some guidance.

There are new tools coming so please be patient with us.

Create and discover the DESIRES that guide your ACTIONS!

Most people know their desires but how many people really know what is preventing them from having or living them everyday. This exercise is simple. In two minutes, write down all your desires. It doesn't matter if your desires seem too far-fetched, in fact that is kind of the purpose of this exercise. Once you have written down all of your desires, read the exercise in the left-side column and you will find out what has been limiting you in the past. If their are some desires you know you will attain, write them down too. It is simply important to start writing for two minutes without stopping.

The internal communication that guides your actions can be easily determined by integrating a "but" at the end of your statement or by beginning your statement with "I Can't" or "I will or I know"; and usually uses the word "because" to segue into supporting evidence. This self-limiting internal communication is generalized and limits possibilities because you are usually convinced of the outcome.

For Example

I would love to get more education (Internal Interpretation) but I was never very good in school.

I can't lose weight (Internal Interpretation) because I am genetically fat!

I know I will become wealthy because (Internal Interpretation) I am good in business.

Your exercise will look like this-

Desire - $500,000 home in the mountains.

I would love to have a $500,000 home in the mountains but (internal interpretation) I can't earn enough money to afford it.

Desire - Lose 50 lbs.

I can't lose 50 lbs. because (Internal Interpretation) I don't have the will power.

Desire - Earn 1 million dollars this year

I will earn a million dollars this year because (Internal interpretation) I am good at what I do.

Notice how this internal communication is generalized. If you start becoming more specific in your internal dialog, you are beginning to create evidence.

For Example:

I know I will earn a million dollars this year because of the contract I just sold. The contract is supporting evidence.

I can't lose weight because I hate to diet and exercise. Hate is a strong emotion and hating to diet and exercise is supporting evidence.

When you have completed the exercise, notice which desires seem the most attainable. For every desire you know you can attain, you can imagine already living or owning, can't you. However, for every desire you have that seems far-fetched, you either have negatively interpreted a past failure, or you have discovered new evidence that would support potential failure.
